Lesson 3

Today in media arts Mr Powell gave us most of the lesson using Photo Booth and animation to create a small video with a real life object and animation.  I used most of the lesson to just play around with  animation and get used to the app. After this lesson i feel a lot more comfortable using the app and i have now recognised all the different tools and i now feel confident using the app.

Lesson 1/2

This term in media arts we have started a new topic using animation and stop motion. I was away for the first lesson but when i came back we watched a few music videos that used animation to give us a few ideas for our assignment. My favourite video we watched was the bruno mars video that used the tape to make images and writing. Mr Powell explained that not all the images used tape and that some had just been written or drawn in a black marker because it was very detailed. Mr Powell also showed us a few stop motion videos that had also used animation. After watching all the videos it gave me lots of ideas for my assignment, i am very exited to start my video so i can put all these ideas to action.

Evaluation:

This term I have really enjoyed creating my Avatar. When I first started to make my avatar I found it very difficult to remember how to use all the tools, I would always forget where they belong and what they did. It took me about 2 weeks to remember all the steps and tools of how to change the colour of a pair of eyes. So I was learning new tools and trying different techniques throughout the process of my avatar. While I was making my avatar I wanted to do different things to the image that I hadn’t yet learned. So Mr Powell helped me learn new techniques in order to create the ‘girly spring’ avatar I was looking for. My planning did help me create the avatar I wanted because it made it easier to select images and decide on colours for hair and eyes etc. this was because I already had an idea of what I wanted instead of being indecisive about everything. I thought I managed time very well, as I brought my USB to class every lesson, I also chose my pictures before the assignment started which gave me more time to work on it during class. During this term I have been putting all my work on my blog to show the progress of my Photoshop skills. Every lesson I uploaded my work on my blog unless I was absent, sometimes I would work on a picture for two lessons and upload it after it was finished. I believe I have enough evidence to support my work because I have detailed reflections and lots of posts. I have learnt many things during the process of my avatar and throughout the term, this includes Liquefy, Eye colour, Skin colour, hair colour, background change, selecting certain items and layers. It has taken me a while to remember all the tools and steps to be able to use these techniques but by now I can definitely say I know how to use all of them easily. I am really happy with my avatar; it is exactly what I pictured it to look like but even better! I have no doubts about my avatar and if I had to start again i wouldn’t change anything. I am really happy with the progress I’ve made using Photoshop and I have learnt so much this term.

Hand fix

Today in media arts, i finished my avatar. I fixed both hands so it looks like they are on top of my stomach and not blending into it.  I also went around the picture and just fixed a few mistakes that i had like bits of my skin that were to strong in places and flower skin that had gone onto my pants. Now i have my final product and i am very happy with it, it is just what i wanted to portray.

Hair colour and Flower

Today in media arts i added flower skin and pink hair. I felt that this represented me more because i love the colour pink and flowers. It took me a while to decide which shade of pink for the hair but eventually decided to go with a hot pink because i thought it was more bright and bold. Next lesson i think i need to fix the hands because i feel they blend in with my stomach too much.

Hair fix

Today in media arts i fixed the hair problem. I made a new layer just for hair so that it wouldnt matter if the background hair diapered. This will also be handy for when i want to change my hair colour.

Hair redo

The last couple of lessons in Media arts i have been working on my assignment. It took me a while to think of an idea for my background but eventually i thought of my two favourite things, pink and flowers. I found the perfect image and the last two lessons have tried to incorporate the image into my body. This picture is what i was working on this lesson and the one before, but later i made a mistbake and rubbed out my hair so i had to delete my layer and start over. To solve this problem i have now made a new layer just for my hair.

Victoria justice

Today I learnt how to put different images over each other to make different skin colours etc. I put cheetah print on her skin. I also decided to make her lips blue to add to the quirkiness. I Also added a blue colour to her eyes.

Lana del Rey

Today i learnt how to put a background in. I also changed lana del rey's lips to pink and her eyes to a deep blue.

Tyra

Today in media arts i gave Tyra banks blonde hair. I learnt how to do this today.
1. duplicate the background
2. rub out everything except for the hair
3. command u, human saturation
4. change colour
5. then go over edges with the paint brush and take out all the unnecessary colour


I liquified her lips and nose, i made her nose smaller and her lips bigger.

eyes and liquify

I made Beyoncé have blue eyes, and liquified her eyebrow shape higher. I made her lips a bit bigger, and cleared her skin a bit so it was flawless. I htink next time i need to make her lips look more life like because her lips are a bit wonky.

Today i photoshoped big kev. I liquified his stomach to make it bigger. Instead of changing his eye colour i changed his nipples to purple.

Today in media arts i used liquify to make her eyebrows and lips bigger and sillier. Then i used a various of tools to make her eyes a deep blue.

Hermoine

Today in media arts we learnt how to change the eye colour of people and characters. I changed Hermoine(Emma Watson) eye's from a hazel to a deep ocean blue.

Tree frog and emu

In the first couple of media arts lesson we learnt how to use the app, photoshop. We photoshoped a frog and emu together this is what my end product looked like.
